MYSA BULLET POINTS

  • Practices can begin August 1 but not before
  • Practices can be held anywhere except for the playing field at
Smith Park and the lighted field at Jacot Park.  Jacot Park and
Verity Middle School are equipped with goals.  School yards are a
good place to hold a practice.
  • Candy League teams are permitted to use the candy fields at
    Smith Park for practices.
  • The Labor Day Tournament is a great way to start the
season.  Sign ups begin August 1, 2007 and the deadline for sign
ups are August 27, 200.  Sign up early to assure a spot in the
    tournament
  • Passer League team's will take a turn to staff the concession
stand at Smith Park during the season.  It is the coach's
responsibility to make sure the concession stand is staffed with
parents during your team's assigned time.  Your game will be held
up and/or forfeited if the concession stand is not staffed.
  • Referees must be treated with respect and consideration by all
coaches, players and parents.  The MYSA Board will enforce a 0
tolerance policy for abuse of referees.
  • Teams at the end of the season will participate either the City
Tournament or the Area Tournament.  Teams will qualify for the
area tournament by placing first and in some cases second and
third in their division.  The winner if the area tournament advances
to state tournament.  Teams not qualifying for the area tournament
will play in the City Tournament.
  • Trophies will be awarded to teams finishing first and second in
    their divisions.
  • All Candy league players will be given a participation trophy.
Thank you very much for
giving your time by coaching a
